As you exit Serene Lane, you dread every step you make towards the underpass in Lake Park. Once you cross here, there will be no witnesses. You take a deep breath as you enter the park that offers no assurance with lighting. Instead, a broken streetlamp and a dim litted tunnel was all you had to work with. You continue to hear footsteps behind you. Are you daydreaming? You don't dare to turn around, and you speed up the pace. Walking through the underpass. You couldn't help but rush into her arms in intense relief as the front door slammed to the dangers behind you. Once Brianna calmed you down, you reported the situation to the police. The next day, they found a suspicious individual following another young woman and arrested him. The lights that shone from the windows of the police station, almost brought tears to your eyes. You knew you were going to be OK. The officers were aware of your arrival and quickly combed the area for any suspicious individuals You had to complete some paperwork of what you witnessed and so on. The more you described your situation, the more you start to doubt that anything happened. Was someone actually following you? One of the officers was kind enough to drive you home and you moved on from that terrifying night. You decided to never accept overtime at work, it's never worth it. The stalking footsteps behind started to slow down and eventually stop altogether. They stopped following you. You waited outside the hospital and called for a taxi. For once, you knew it was money well spent as you returned home safely. You didn't hear anything on the news about a serial killer on the loose or any wanted criminals. You find out that he was actually at another girl's house.... You break up with him and watch as he pathetically packs up his stuff and leaves the house for good.
